(Q () <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ANIMAL CONTROL; AMENDING <br />SECTION 4.355 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; ADDING <br />SECTION 4.450 TO THAT CODE; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Section 4.355 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended by amending the first sentence thereof ar~d by adding in alpha- <br />betical order therein the following: <br />4.355 Dog Control -- Definitions . For purposes of sections <br />4.355 to 4.450 of this chapter, the following words <br />and phrases shall mean: <br />Animal agency. Any public or private organization <br />whether called a pound, kennel, shelter, society, or <br />the liken that controls, shelters, cares for or disposes <br />of dogs and cats as all or a part of the purposes of the <br />organization. Animal agency does not include a veteri- <br />narian in private practice, Animal agency does include <br />the agency's officers, agents and employees when acting <br />in the name of or on behalf of the agency, <br />Animal technician. An animal technician as defined <br />in ORS 656.350 who is performing duties under the super- <br />vision of a veterinarian. <br />Put to death. The taking of an act or series of <br />actions for the purpose of intentionally causing death. <br />Veterinarian. A person licensed by the State of <br />Oregon to practice veterinarian medicine. <br />Private practice of veterinarian medicine. The <br />private practice of veterinarian medicine has its ordi-~ <br />nary meaning, and includes private animal hospitals or <br />clinics under the supervision or control of a veteri- <br />narian. The phrase also includes the agents and em- <br />ployees of a private animal hospital and clinic when <br />acting in the name of or on behalf of such hospital or <br />clinic. <br />Section 2. There is hereby added to the Eugene Cade, 1971, the <br />following section, to be numbered and provide: <br />Ordinance -- 1 <br />
