<br />e M I NUT E S <br /> Eugene City Council <br /> City Council Chamber <br /> November 9, 1983 <br /> 11: 45 a.m. <br /> COUNCILORS PRESENT: Emily Schue, Brian Obie, John Ball, Dick Hansen, Freeman <br /> Holmer, Mark Lindberg, Betty Smith, and Cynthia Wooten. <br /> Adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was called <br /> to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller. <br /> 1. ITEMS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND AGENDA <br /> ADJUSTMENTS <br /> A. All-American Cities Competition <br /> Councilor Schue said she would be leaving on November 12 for Baltimore with <br /> Cathy Briner and Don Mason to attend the All-American Cities Competition. She <br /> said that a run-through of the presentation would be held in the McNutt Room at <br /> 3:30 p.m. on November 10. She said that comments and suggestions would be <br /> apprec i ated. Mayor Keller thanked Ms. Schue for representing the City at the <br />e competi tion. The other councilors expressed their appreciation to Ms. Schue and <br /> their wishes for a successful presentation. <br /> B. Adjustment to Agenda <br /> Mayor Keller requested that item III on the agenda, the Olympic Scientific <br /> Congress, be held over to November 16. He explained that more information was <br /> needed on the item before presenting the entire package to the council. Since <br /> no Objections were voiced by the Council, the item was rescheduled to November 16. <br /> C. Advisory Committee for the Business Development Fund <br /> Mayor Keller asked for additional names of those to be considered for the <br /> Advisory Committee. He said that Ms. Wooten was the only councilor who had <br /> given him some names. In response to a question, Ms. Wooten reviewed the goals <br /> and the proposed composition of the adVisory committee. She said it had been <br /> recommended that the committee review the loan packages submitted for financing <br /> through the Business Development fund. Mayor Keller requested staff to distribute <br /> information on the membership requirements to the councilors. He said that it <br /> was necessary to have the committee members selected next week. <br /> D. Presentation by Girl Scouts <br /> Two Girl Scouts from Troop 396, representing the Western Rivers Girl Scout <br /> Council, expressed their enjoyment of the Eugene Celebration and their desire to <br />e enter a float in next year's Celebration.
