Interim purchase by the City of Eugene with subsequent resale to other <br />party(ies). <br />A friendly amendment to direct the City manager to prepare a proposal for <br />consideration by the Council to lease or purchase Civic Stadium was accepted. <br />PASSED: 5:2; councilors Clark and Pryor opposed. <br />Council Discussion: Several councilors expressed support for purchasing and <br />preserving the stadium, while others felt it was either not a good investment for the City <br />to make or not the right time for the City to consider this action due to budget <br />considerations. <br />5. WORK SESSION: Community Development Block Grant Financing Options for <br />Homeless Sheltering <br />Community Programs Analyst Michael Wisth presented an overview of the CDBG <br />program and how the money is being used. <br />After some discussion, the council decided to work on a short -term plan for a safe and <br />dry place for the homeless to sleep as well as a long -term planning strategy for the <br />future. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:14 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />MM�u,.
