2. To connect the main building entrance on the development site to <br />adjacent existing or planned office, commercial or employment <br />andindustrial uses, and to existing or planned transit stops where <br />the addition of the on-site pedestrian facility would reduce walking <br />or cycling distance between the uses by 200 feet and by at least <br />50 percent over other available pedestrian routes. <br />(c)In all zones, on-site pedestrian paths shall be constructed within new <br />multiple-family residential developments with 3 or more units to insure <br />that access is provided: <br />1.From every unit to all other units within the residential <br />development. <br />2.From every unit to all laundry, recreational and other community <br />facilities in the residential development. <br />3.From every building located within 40 feet of a public or private <br />street to the street right-of-way line. <br />Section 56. <br />Subsection (7)(b)of Section 9.6745of the Eugene Code, 1971, isamended <br />to provide as follows: <br />9.6745Setbacks-Intrusions Permitted. <br />(7)Parking Spaces in Required Setbacks. <br />(b)In areas with the broad zone category of commercial or employment and <br />industrial, as depicted in Table 9.1030 Zones, except for the C-1, C-2, <br />E-1, and E-2zones, parking spaces and parking areas are permitted in <br />any required interior yard setback. <br />Section 57. <br />Subsection (1) of Section 9.6770 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is amended to <br />provide as follows: <br />9.6770Transit Improvements. <br />(1) <br />The location of transit stops shall be based upon the size and trip generation <br />of new development adjacent to an existing or planned transit corridor. The <br />transit operator shall review site plans and may recommend transit-related <br />facilities be constructed for the following developments: <br />(a)Residential developments having an average peak hour trip rate of 25 <br />trips or greater. <br />(b)Commercial and employment andindustrialdevelopments other than <br />office developments, having an average peak hour trip rate of 100 trips <br />or greater. Office developments generating 50 or more average peak <br />hour trips. <br />(c)Institutional uses and public facilities, including churches, hospitals, <br />middle schools, high schools, universities and colleges, public parks <br />(other than neighborhood parks), libraries, post offices, and other <br />institutional and public facilities generating 100 or more average peak <br />hour trips. <br />Ordinance -Page 42of 48 <br />
