Participants gain knowledge of
various artistic skills while promoting personal identity and pride, enhancing
self-esteem, and fostering socialization and inclusion. Each term, 12 to15
students participate in the program. Several individuals have been involved in the program since its
conception in 2000.

The program also provides income earning opportunities for the participants through gallery shows and
sales. An artist can sell between $10 - $300 worth of art at each show, with proceeds going directly to
the artist.
