Background

Kathleen Hall and Peter Drongesen are the owners of the house located at 370 River Road, home
of Amelia's Antiques. The house dates to 1901 and is built in the Vernacular Gothic style, with
original doors, windows, floors, and fixtures. Substantial research done by Ms. Hall, including
oral histories with descendants of the home's original owners, reveals a rich history associated
with the River Road/Danebo area's Danish immigrants. In early 2004, Ms. Hall sought to
preserve and recognize the home's historic value by nominating it to the City of Eugene's
Historic Landmark Inventory. Approval of the historic designation was granted by Eugene's
Historic Review Board on May 27, 2004 (HD 04-01).

19
