retained and may be recorded over pursuant to the normal operation of the <br />dash cam. <br />(2) Dash cam video of fires, accidents or other emergency scenes used for <br />training purposes shall be retained in accordance with OAR 166-200- <br />0330(2). Any other dash cam video that falls within a State -adopted <br />record retention category shall be retained in accordance with the State's <br />records retention schedule. Such video shall be downloaded from the <br />camera's SD card to City computers or servers as soon as practicable. <br />(3) The dash cam normally shall be operated with the audio recording <br />function off. If a battalion chief determines that training would be <br />furthered by activating the audio recording function in a particular <br />instance, the battalion chief may do so provided that he or she <br />concurrently ensures that the dash cam is set to retain that footage (i.e., <br />ensure the dash cam will not loop over that footage), and in addition, the <br />battalion chief shall notify anyone in the Fire Department vehicle or <br />anyone who approaches the Fire Department vehicle that the dash cam is <br />operating and will record what the person says. <br />Dated and effective this : DTHday of Q a.,- , 2015. <br />Jon R.
