Appoint applicants who have been nominated; <br />2. Appoint other applicants from the pool, or <br />3. Seek additional candidates for these positions. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The City Manager has no recommendation on this item; the appointments are made by the council. <br /> <br /> <br />SUGGESTED MOTIONS <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission <br />There are seven vacancies on the Human Rights Commission. Ten applications were received, <br />including three current members who wished to be reappointed. From this pool, the council <br />chose to reappoint all three incumbents in the initial round, and selected seven others to be <br />interviewed. Just before the interviews, one candidate withdrew from the process. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Ibrahim Hamide to Position 1 on the Human Rights Commission for a three- <br />year term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Reza Paloma to Position 3 on the Human Rights Commission for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Move to reappoint Chistina Greening to Position 6 on the Human Rights Commission for a <br />three-year term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Twila Souers to Position 2 on the Human Rights Commission for a three-year <br />term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2010. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Jon Belcher to Position 7 on the Human Rights Commission, the unexpired <br />term of James Garcia for a term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2008. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Marieke (Mo) Young to Position 10 on the Human Rights Commission, the <br />unexpired term of Jeremiah Megowan for a term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on <br />October 31, 2009. <br /> <br />Move to appoint Linda Hamilton to Position 14 on the Human Rights Commission, the <br />unexpired term of Carmen Urbina for a term beginning November 1, 2007, and ending on <br />October 31, 2009. <br /> <br /> <br />F:\CMO\2007 Council Agendas\M071022\S0710228.doc <br />
