~ `7 3 <br />Section 11. Every person riding or operating a bicycle on an;T street;~_ <br />alley, or public place in the City of Eugene shall keep said bicycle on tY~ <br />extreme right of the traffic lane, and it shall be unlawful for two or more <br />operators of bicycles to travel abreast on .any street, alley or public place in <br />tYie City of Eugene or to operate said bicycle on traffic lanes otherwise than <br />in single f ile. <br />Section 12. Every person riding or operating a bicycle on ar.~y street, <br />alley, or public place in the City of Eugene shall be subject to all provisions <br />of the laws of the State of Oregon and the ordinances of the City of Eugene <br />applicable to the drivers of vehicles, except the provisions thereof that by <br />their very nature can have no application. <br />Section 13. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to run <br />or engage,or cause to run or to be engaged in any bicycle race on ar_y street, <br />alley or .public: place within the corporate limits of the City of Eugene, except <br />under permit from and supervision of the Chief of Police of said City. <br />Section 14. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall., upon conviction thereof in the Recorder's Court of the City of <br />Eugene, be punished by a fine not to exceed X100.00 and in default of the payment <br />of such fine, may be imprisoned in the city- jail one day for each ~~°.2.00 of the <br />fine unpaid. In addition to such penalt;;r the City Recorder may, either in lieu <br />of or in addition to such fine, prohibit the operation upon the streets, alleys, <br />and public places of the City of Eugene for a period not to exceed thirty days, <br />of the bicycle so used in such violation, in which event the bicycle so used in <br />such violation shall be impounded with the Chief of Police and retained by him for <br />the period that the operation thereof is prohibited, or the owner's card or certi- <br />ficate shall be hula for they period during which the operation of the bicycle is <br />prohibited. <br />Section 15. All ordinances and parts o~ ordinances in conflict <br />herewith are hereby repealed. <br />Section 16. Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to be, nor shall <br />be in conflict with any of the provisions of the state law. <br />Sect ion. l7.
