I <br />3 ~. 2 <br />ORDINANCE NO.~ <br />An ordinance regulating the playing of pool, billiards, cards, dice or any <br />similiar game, and regulating any room or resort in which such games are played in tha <br />City of Eguene and fixing a lioense on card tables, pool~t ablea, and billiard tables, <br />fixing a penalty and declaring an emergency, and repealing conflicting ordinances. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLO~TS: <br />Section 1. ~o pool room card room or similar resort in the City of Eugene shall <br />be permitted to have or maintain any booth, enclosure or room, other than its main roam, <br />in which cards, dice or other games may be played, and it is hereby made unlawful for <br />any person or persons to maintain in any pool room, card room or similar resort in the <br />City of Eugene, any booth, enclosure, screened off portion of such room, or other <br />obstructed portion shut off from observation, from its main room in which games of cards <br />dice or other devices can be played shut off from observation from any portion of the <br />main pool room, cardroom or similar .place, AlI rooms must be open and accessible at all <br />times to inspection. <br />Section 2. It is hereby made unlawful for any person or persons to play cards, <br />dice or other games, or permit the same to be done, in any pool room, card room or <br />similar place in the City of Eugene, without any room, enclosure, booth or behind any ' <br />j screen or other obstruction, it being the purpose of this ordinance to require all <br />~ games as herein described to be played in such a manner that they may at all times be <br />inspected and seen from all and any portion of the pool room card room or similar place. <br />' Section 3. It shell be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation within the <br />I <br />i City of Eugene, to keep open on the first day of the week comonly called Sunday, any <br />billiard room, pool room, dance hall, or any place where any game of chance is played <br />or any public place where any game of ea.rds is played for amusement or otherwise, or <br />i any public place where dice is thrown for amusement or otherwise, or any similar place <br />of amusement. <br />i <br />i <br />Section ~.. Any officer, manager, employee or agent having charge or control of any <br />pool room, card room or similar resort in the City of Eugene, which shall be maintained <br />or operated in violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of <br />a violation of the terms of this ordinance and punishable as hereinafter provided. <br />Section 5. A Regulatory lioense fee is hereby established for card tables, pool <br />tables and billiard tables as follows; For the first card table X10.00; each additional <br />j table $5.00. For the first pool table $10.00; each additional table X5.00. For the <br />first billiard table $$10.00; each additional table $5.00. The license fee shall be pay- <br />I, able annually in advance on the first day of July in each year. <br />M <br />
