<br />3~3 <br /> <br />And it shall be unlawful to install, keep or maintain in any pool room, card <br />room or similar resort, any card table, pool table or billiard table without having <br />first applied for and received from the City Recorder a license therefor. <br />Section b. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be <br />sub3ect, upon conviction in the Municipal Court to a fine of not exceeding two hundred <br />dollars, and for the costs of the prosecution. <br />Section 7. Whereas it is the beleif of the Common Council that rooms where cards, <br />dice; pool and billiard are.pls.yed have ~ tendacy to promote unlawful gambling. It is <br />therefore declared that it ~is necessary to the immediate preservation ofthe peace, health <br />and safety of the. City of Eugene that this ordinance take effect at once, and an emerg- <br />ency is hereby declared to -exist and it is so ordered that this ordinance shall become <br />effective upon its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor. <br />Section $.
