X28 <br />~_ _ _ ~_ <br />_- _ -- -- -- _ --- - - -- - - - -- - - - ,r <br />A17. draw-off valves or faucets shall have discharge end threaded or otherwise <br />se designed as to permit of tight connection t~rith hose extending to fill-pipe. <br />Every tanlc truck shall be provided.~~iith properly attached rear steel bumpers. <br />The rear bumpers or chassis extension sha7.l be so arranged as to adequately protect the <br />d.ratr-off va7_ve or faucets in case of collision. <br />Each compartment of a~gravity discharge truck tank shall be equipped ~rJith a <br />reliable and. efficient shut-off valve located. inside the she 11 of the tank in the <br />compartment outlet, and except during de livery operations such valves shall automatically <br />be kept closed, or shall be so interlocked ~,rith delivery operation that it will be <br />mechanically closed urhen d.eliv=rv ooera.tions axe completed. , <br />The operating mechanism for such valves shall be provided with a secondary-control, <br />remote from the tank filling parts and discharge faucets for use in event of accidents or <br />fire during delivery opera.tinns, and such control mechanism shall be provided *.~rith a <br />fusible section ~r~hich will cause valves to close automatically in case of fire. <br />In every case there shall be provided bet~tieen the shut-off valve seat and. <br />discharge faucet, a, shear section 4rhich will break under strain and leave the shut-off <br />valve seat intact. . <br />Tanks, chassis, exles and springs shall be metal7.ically connected. Tank trucks <br />shall. be equipped ~r~ith drag chains long enough to reach the ground. <br />During the filling operation metallic contact shall be `ma.inta,ined bet~~reen the <br />fill tiiroe and the ts.nk truck. . <br />The foregoing provisions shall also apply to the construction and operation of <br />trailers and. semi-trailers. If there are no schools, churches, hospitals or public halls within 300 feet, <br />and no other building than those of the plant within 150. feet of the proposed distilling <br />or condensing plant, a.nd other conditions are consistent with the spirit and intent of <br />this ordinance, the Cheif of the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall grant a permit for the <br />location desired; provided,also, that a guarantee to maintain an open space 150 feet <br />on all sides shall begiven by the applicant. <br />Part 10. <br />THE APPLICATIOTT OF FLAliP~1ABLE FINISFIES <br />General Requirements <br />1001.
