ATTACHMENTD
SOUTH WILLAMETTE PLANNING
PUBLIC TESTIMONY
From Brian Weaver 08/15/2016
(PleaserecordassubmittedpubliccommentfortheSept.19thforum)
Ye
s,I'vereadyour invitation and your stated purpose of the September 19th forum, but it
continues to be murky, as well as your statement below, and not consistent with what Terri
Harding reported in her January 1, 2016 email, titled "Envision Eugene andSouth
Willamette Update"
Terri claimedthat, "In addition to strengthening theadoption package, usingan alternative
strategyto meet the MDR (medium densityresidential) need couldtake some pressure off
the area planning strategy now andin the future. Without a legally-binding need to fit in a
certain amount of housing, area planning conversations including South Willamette can
proceed as neededwithample time to reach a resolution, independent of the UGB adoption
package."
Please help me understand howEnvision Eugene(UGB adoption package) wasreported by
the City as "independent" of MDRplanning in South Willamette, (according to Terri's Jan1,
2016 Update), yet now you say the two"are not separated." Is the January EE & SWupdate
no longervalid? If so,when was an newUpdatepublished by the city and where is it?
(BTW - thelinkbutton "here"to you you letter: "To read the Mayor's letter to community
members clickhere"does not show your letter, instead it goes to the
"southwillamette@ci.eugene.or.us"emailaddress.)https://www.eugene-
or.gov/2675/South-Willamette-Area-Planning-Updates
Please let usknow.
Thanks,
Brian Weaver
