<br />6th 4 <br /> <br />- ORDINANCE N0. 90~ <br />An Ordinance regulating and licensing dealers of firearms and deadly weapons in <br />the City of L~gene, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:. <br />Section 1. FEES <br />(a) Dealers in WeaAOns. Dealers in deadly weapons or firearms shall <br />- pay an annual license fee-of, $25.00 <br />Section 2. DEFINITION. Any person engaging in the business of selling or <br />offering for sale at retail any pistol, revolver, derringer, bowie knife or other <br />weapon. of like character that can be concealed upon the person, shall be considered <br />a dealer in deadly weapons or firearms. <br />Section j. ISSUANCE OF LICENSE. If it shall. appear to the inspector from <br />application or otherwise that the applicant has an established place of business <br />within the City of Eugene, and that such applicant, and in case the applicant is a <br />firm or corporation, the responsible members or officers thereof, are persons of <br />good morel character, he shall, upon payment of the license fee herein provided, <br />issue a license to such applicant; provided, however, that is any such applicant <br />shall have had his, their or its license revoked within one year prior to such <br />application, no license shall be issued without the approval of the Council. <br />Section ~. CONDITIONS OF LICENSE: Every license issued under the provisions <br />of this 9rdinance is issued upon the following terms and conditions: <br />(a) The licensee shall observe all the provisions of the ordinances of the <br />City of Eugene or the Laws of the State of Oregon relating to the <br />business of dealing in deadly weapons or firearms; the licensee will, not <br />sell, deliver, or other+,rise transfer any pistol, revolver, or other fire- <br />arm capable of being concealed upon the person to any per eon whom he has <br />cause to believe is an alien or who has been convicted of a f elony, nor <br />will he sell, deliver, or otherwise transfer any such weapon to any <br />minor under the age of eighteen years. <br />(b) The business shall be carried on only in the building designated in the <br />license. <br />(c) The license or a copy thereof, certified by the issuing authorities, shall <br />be displayed on the premises where it can easily be read. <br />(d) No pistol or revolver shall be delivered on the day of the application for <br />the purchase, and when delivered, shall be unloaded and securely wrapped; <br />er unless the purchaser either is personally known to the seller or shall <br />present clear evidence of his identity. <br />(e) No pistol or revolver or imitation thereof, or placard advertising the sale <br />or other transfer thereof, shall be displayed in any part of said premises <br />where it can readily. be seen. <br /> <br />
