<br />An Ordinance to regulate sevrer construction, repair or reconstruction, and requiring
<br />', application for permits, and providing a ~~enal_ty for violation thereof, repealing Ordinances
<br />
<br />or parts of Ordinances in~conflict therewith, and providing for a bond and license, and ~
<br />~ declaring an emergency.
<br />BE IT ORDAINED By TI-~; CO?~~1I,40r1 COUr1CII, OF Tf~E; CITY OF EUGEP?E, OREGON:
<br />Section 1. No person, firm, or corporation shall construct or reconstruct, any sani-
<br />tary sewer within the City* of Eugene on private property, or in public ways, without first
<br />,,
<br />making application and securing a permit therefor.
<br />Section c. Applications for permits to construct or reconstruct sanitary servers shall
<br />, be in tivriting on a form provided by the Building Zepartment, grid shall give the location of
<br />i~
<br />the property, the name of the otivner, the nave of the person or firm engaged to construct,
<br />or reconstruct, the proposed sanitary sewer, and such other information or plans as may
<br />be required by the Building Department. ,
<br />Section 3 . All applications to construct airy sanitary sever shall be accompanied by
<br />a fee of ~z.50 (if more than 50~ of an existing sewer line is to be reconstructed, then
<br />it shall be classed as new construction).
<br />All applications to reconstruct any sanitary sevrer shall be accompanied by a fee of
<br />X1.00 (if not less than ~0~ of an existing sewer line is to be reconstructed, then it '~
<br />shall he classed as repairs).
<br />If the work involved does not require the laying of a new line, it shall be classed
<br />as a repair job, and no permit shall be required.
<br />~, Section 1;. ~: separate permit trill be required for each and every building.
<br />Section 5• Upon approval of the application the Building Department shall issue a ''
<br />permit to construct, or reconstruct, a server line, which perriit shall. epeci_fy vvhere the
<br />proposed work sh all b~; done .
<br />Section 6. Reasonable notice shall be given to the Plumbing Inspector to inspect
<br />all work in connecti on with the construction or reconstruction of any sanitary sevrer line ~~
<br />while the work is still uncovered.
<br />Section 7. Applicants for permits to construct, or reconstruct, any sanitary sewer ~,
<br />must also comply with the provisions of any ordinance regulating and requiring permits
<br />'~~
<br />for the making of cuts or excavations in, on, or under streets and alleys.
<br />~ Section ~ . The aforementioned regulations do rot in any way affect or govern the con-
<br />struction of sanitary servers vvithin the public streets which are done by regular contract ,

<br />and under the supervision of the City Engineer. ~
<br />Section 9. Before any person, firm or corporation other than the owner or a licensed '~
