.~4 ~~. <br />Section 5. <br />Before issuing a license, the Building Inspector, in cooperation with the Fire Chief <br />of the City, shall inspect the premises occupied or to be occupied by the trailer house, and <br />shall ascertain that said use or proposed use complies vrith all sanitary, fire, and zoning <br />regulations of the City and Sta'„e, and shall be cormected to a. city san~.tary sewer. <br />Section 6. <br />The Building Inspector is hereby authorized and directed to ascertain all instances in <br />1 <br />vrrri.ch trailer houses or any structures converted from trailers, or any vehicles used as <br />such, are already occupying premises as herein set out in the City of Eugene, and to give <br />them notice that a permit wi_11 be required; and such owner or occupant is granted seven (7) <br />da;~s, from the time of receiving such notice, in ~rrhich to apply for a permit as provided <br />in Section 4. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to fail to make <br />application for such permit within fifteen days of such notice, and occupancy without a <br />permit in any of the events herein set out is declared to be a nuisance and a menace to <br />the health and. yvell-being of the people of the City of Eugene, and unlawful. Notice may <br />be given by the Building Inspector or by the Chief of Police oral ly in person, and i f no <br />one is found on the premises, a notice may be sent by mail to the occupant if his identity <br />is kno:,m, and if not, may be served by delivering it at the door of the structure used. <br />Section 7. <br />Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance or <br />n <br />failing; to comply +,herewith, shall, upon conviction in the Recorder's Court, be subject <br />to a fine of not to exceed TrTenty--five Dollars (~~25.00) and to the payment of costs of <br />prosecution and to imprisonment in the City Jail for one day for each Two Dollars (N2.00) <br />of the fine unpaid . <br />Section 8. <br />Ordinance 8672 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith <br />are repealed. <br />Section 9. <br />V~thereas, the parking of camp cars, trailers, trailer houses, trailer homes and ve- <br />1 <br />hicles used for such purposes at places at tivhich there is r_o suitable provision tffir the <br />disposal of human excreta, garbage, and waste constitutes a menace to the health of the <br />residents of the City, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,a nd it is declared to be <br />necessary, for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the ..City of <br />Eugene, that this Ordinance take effect immediately upon its passage by the Common Council <br />and its approval by the h~ayor, and it is so ordered. <br />Passed by the Common Council <br />this 23rd day of August, 1948 <br />/s/ Henry F.
