MINUTES <br />EugeneCityCouncil <br />HarrisHall,125East8Avenue <br />th <br />Eugene,Oregon97401 <br />October10,2016 <br />7:30p.m. <br />CouncilorsPresent: <br />#« ¨±¤3¸±¤³³µ¨ ¯§®¤ <br />CouncilorsAbsent: <br /> CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br />1. <br />Mayor Piercy honored the Eugene Emeralds baseball team for being the 2016 Northwest League <br />Champions. <br />The City of Eugene Urban Forestry program was awarded the Oregon Community Trees 2016 <br />Organizational Award. <br />Judge Mary Jane Mori was recognized for her 22 years as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of <br />Eugene and it was announced that a courtroom will be named the “Mary Jane Mori Courtroom.” <br />2. PUBLIC FORUM <br /> 1. Gail Newton – Supported enhanced swimming pool access in Eugene. <br /> 2. Jeff Winter – Supported more swimming access in Eugene and a cover for Amazon pool. <br /> 3. Paul Neville – Supported approval of HOME funds for St. Vincent de Paul housing for teens. <br /> 4. Queen Eugenia Slimesworth – Supported bringing back the Eugene Celebration parade. <br /> 5. Alden McWayne – Supported implementation of the climate recovery ordinance. <br /> 6. Wes Georgiev – Supported allocating money to the Transportation System Plan for Beltline Rd. <br /> 7. Corina MacWilliams – Supported implantation of the climate recovery ordinance and carbon tax. <br /> 8. Alfredo Gormezano – Supported helping homeowners to construct extra dwellings on property. <br /> 9. Stefan Strek – Supported community consent on projects in Eugene. <br /> 10. Joe Tyndall – Said he believes the Police Commission is censoring information. <br />Council discussion: <br />Dakota Access Pipeline resolution is to be recognized on Indigenous Peoples Day. <br />Excited for the potential of a cover for Amazon Pool. <br />St. Vincent de Paul application received some of the highest scores ever by HUD. <br />3.
