The polls shall be opened in each of said polla.ng places at eight o'clock <br />in the morning and shall be kept open until eight o'clock in the evening ~~z said election day. <br />1 <br />Section 7. The first named Jude of said election board as provided for in this Ordin- <br />ante shall be Chairman of the board of ti~rhich he is a member, anti the ballots cast at said <br />electior_ shall be counted, tabulated and returned to the City Recorder as provided b;;r law. <br />Section 8. The City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of said <br />election by publication in a ner;spaper of general circul~~.tinn in such corporation and in <br />such territroy so proposed to be annexed oaace a week for t he period of four successive ,creeks <br />prior to such eledtion, also by posting notices thereof in four public places in the terr- <br />itory proposed to be armexed for alike per iod. Such notice shall distinctly st~~te the pro' <br />position. to be so submitted and shall designate especially the boundaries of the territory <br />so proposed to be annexed and the electors shall be invited thereby to vote upon such propo- <br />sition bar placirig~ upon their ballots the ti~rords t'For Annexation" or "Aga.inst Annexation". <br />Section 9. The Judges and Clerks, before entering upon the discharge of their duties at <br />1 <br />such election shall each tale and subscribe before an officer authorized to administer the <br />same, an oath, and he vr~.ll honestly and faithfully discharge his duties as such Judge or <br />Clerk. In case of the absence or inability of any Judge or Clerk so appointed to act at <br />such election, then the qualified electors present at the polls, before proceeding to vote, <br /> <br />
