DraftNeighborhoodOutreachPlan <br />Asub-committeeoftheCitizenTaskForcehasdraftedaneighborhoodpublicoutreachplan, <br />includingapilotthatwillbeusedasaframeworkforholdingseveraloutreachmeetingsina <br />numberofneighborhoodsintheFallof2005throughoutRiverRoadandSantaClara.The <br />purposeofthesemeetingswillbetoengageresidentsattheneighborhoodlevelinaninformal <br />setting,providinganopportunityforresidentstoidentifyneighborhoodconcerns,interests,and <br />values.Seniororganizations,schoolsandcommunityorganizationswillbeapproachedtohost <br />thesesessions. <br />DraftInformationBrochureandUrbanServicesPamphlet <br />Aninformationalbrochureexplainstheoverallprojectandincludesabriefhistoryof <br />developmentinthearea,projectgoals,alistoftaskforcemembersandcontactinformation.A <br />drafturbanservicespamphlethasbeenpreparedtohelpresidentsachieveabetterunderstanding <br />ofthenumerouspublicagenciesthatprovideurbanservicesinRiverRoadandSantaClara,and <br />whotocontactforspecificquestionsorneeds.Thisisthefirstoverviewofservicesprovidedin <br />RiverRoad/SantaClarabyeightspecialdistrictproviders,theCityofEugene,andLaneCounty <br />Ðallinoneinformationpiece. <br />CommunityOrganizationsandNewsletters <br />TheRiverRoadandSantaClaracommunityorganizationsprovidepublicforumsforaddressing <br />transitionplanningissues,andopportunitiesforkeepingresidentsinformedthroughprogress <br />reports.ATransitionTeammemberattendsmostmeetingstobriefresidentsoncurrentactivities <br />andgatherfeedbackabouttheprocess.Thetransitionteamidentifiedlackoffundingfordirect <br />mailofneighborhoodnewsletterstocountyresidents,whichsubsequentlyresultedinaCityof <br />EugenebudgetallocationtoincreasenewsletterfundingforFYÕ05-06. <br />Library <br />TheTransitionTeamhasassembledanumberofreports,plansandmapsrelatedtoRiverRoad <br />andSantaClara.ThesematerialswillbeavailableatthevolunteerlibraryintheRiverRoad <br />communityonOakleighDriveinSeptember. <br />AdditionalProposedMethods <br />Severalothermethodsareproposedtomeetpublicparticipationgoals.Theseinclude: <br />ResidentOpinionSurvey <br />Toprovideinputfromabroadcross-sectionofresidentsandtoprovideopportunityforthose <br />whomaynotbeabletoattendpublicmeetings,aformalcommunityopinionsurveywillbe <br />administeredinlate2005orearly2006.AstatisticallyvalidsurveyofRiverRoadandSanta <br />Clararesidentswillprovideabroadmeasureofresidentpreferencesonkeyissuesrelatedto <br />municipalgovernanceandservices. <br />School/StudentInvolvement <br />AnumberofRiverRoadandSantaClarateachershaveexpressedinterestinusingRR/SCasan <br />instructionallaboratoryforschoolprojects.TheTransitionTeamwillbeexploringthese <br />possibilitieswithteachersintheFall2005. <br />3 <br /> <br />
