Utility Corridor Policy The Eugene City Council and the Lane County Board of Commissioners adopted a new policy on utilities within protected wetlands. This policy ensures that these areas will continue to be given adequate protection, while allowing maintenance and repairs of existing utilities. New utilities can only be constructed under very unusual circumstances, when a strenuous alternatives analysis concludes that it is the best way to minimize overall wetland impacts.
