<br />Adjacent land Use <br /> <br />Deeign Guidelinee <br /> <br />1) Site planning and design of buildings adjacent <br />to arterial and collector streets can significantly <br />contribute to the creation of environments that <br />support walking, bicycling, and transit use. Site <br />and building design is an opportunity to redirect <br />private investment to support multi-modal <br />transportation and increase transit ridership. <br /> <br />2) Buildings should face the street in all transit <br />oriented development and nodal development <br />areas within the city. Orienting the front en- <br />trance of buildings to the street is fundamental to <br />increasing regional and local accessibility to <br />transit, walking and bicycling. It also facilitates <br />pedestrian access and supports pedestrian <br />activity on the street. <br /> <br />3) Discourage residential fencing along arterial <br />and collector streets that isolates the develop- <br />ment from the street.
