<br />Hult Center for the Performing Arts <br /> <br />Residency Criteria, Benefits, and Scheduling Practices for Arts Organizations <br /> <br />Local, not-for-profit organizations that perform in the Hult Center for the Performing Arts (Center) provide <br />a base of performances for the Center which helps the Center to flourish and fulfill its mission of offering <br />a broad cultural experience to the citizens of Eugene and its surrounding areas. They give to us, our children, <br />and their children, an opportunity for artistic experience that would not otherwise be available. <br /> <br />Both the Center and local performing arts organizations will develop strength and financial stability so long <br />as they continue to cooperate, and provide excellent leadership, beautiful, exciting, artistic and interesting <br />performances, professional artistic direction, and long-range planning. Audiences will grow under this <br />cooperation and leadership, and the patron will benefit. <br /> <br />The economic development and cultural diversification of the community will be strengthened, and the <br />unification of the resources of the Center and local performing arts organizations will add to the Center's <br />growth. <br /> <br />In recognition of their artistic excellence and their value as cultural assets to the people of the City of <br />Eugene, the City should offer residency to qualified local, not- for-profit organizations that perform at the <br />Center. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />1. Those performing organizations that meet the fo llowing requirements may app ly for residency status. <br /> <br />1.1 Demonstrate recognized artistic excellence; <br /> <br />1.2 Have a 501 (c)3 status; <br /> <br />1.3 Have a local/community based Board of Directors; <br /> <br />1.4 Have at least three years of continuous existence III Eugene as a performing arts <br />organization; <br /> <br />1.5 For the most recent three seasons, have a subscription season in the Hult Center, or a <br />multiple event season with at least three events in either Silva Concert Hall or Soreng <br />Theater and a total of six performances (as of July 1, 2001, existing Resident Companies <br />which have not met this criteria in the past will be granted a transition period of three years <br />to achieve this performance/production standard; by the 2003-04 season all Resident <br />Companies shall be in compliance); <br /> <br />1.6 Recognize the Hult Center, either by name or logo, on any marketing or promotional <br />material; <br /> <br />1.7 Promptly pay costs of using the Hult Center so that all current debts are cleared on or before <br /> <br />Exhibit B-1 <br />
