Vok~ntary Campaign Finance Spending Limits <br /> <br />In April 2002, the City Council adopted Resolution Number 4709, creating a voluntary campaign <br />finance program for City elections. The program seeks to improve the City election process by <br />encouragin~ candidate~ for City offices to limit campaign expenditures an~ contributions. The <br />program is voluntary and is limited to cand idates who pledge that they wilt comply with alt the <br />expenditure and contribution limits. For City Council elections, the voluntary expenditure limit is <br />$7,500; for the MayOral elect on, the voluntary expenditure limit is $30,000. Contribution limits for <br />counci elections are $100 per person and $500 from the candidate; for the mayoral election they <br />are $500 per person and $500 from the candidate. <br /> <br />The program is entirely voluntary. The names of those candidates who pledge to limit contributions <br />and eXpEnd tures within the scope of the program and adhere to t.h, ose limits throughout the entire <br />campaign will be publ shed in the local newsPaper and on the City s website. The state-required <br />contribL~{ on and expenditure reports will be used to determine expenditures and contributions. For <br />additiOnal information see Resolution 4709. <br /> <br />Voter's Pamphlet Participation <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council candidates have the opportunity to place an argument in support of <br />their candidacy in either the City or State Voter's Pamphlet. Additional information <br />concerning cost, requirements, and filing deadlines will be available from the City Recorder's <br />Office in early 2006. <br /> <br />EWEB candidates may also participate in the City of Eugene Voter s Pamphlet, if one is <br />produced.
