The Building Official shall require plans, computations and specifications to be <br />prepared and designed by an engineer or architect licensed by the state to practice as such. <br />Exceptions: <br />2.2.1. The Building Official may waive the submission of plans, <br />calculations or other data if he/she finds that the nature of the work applied for is <br />such that reviewing of plans is not necessary to obtain compliance with these <br />regulations, the administrative code or applicable technical code. <br />2.2.2. Plans and specifications prepared and designed by an engineer or <br />architect licensed by the state to practice as such are not required for the following <br />work, provided the Building Official determines that the work is not of a highly <br />technical nature or there is no unreasonable potential risk to life and/or safety of the <br />structure. <br />2.2.2.1 The erection, enlargement or alteration of any building, or <br />any appurtenance thereto, where the resulting building has a ground area of <br />4,000 square feet or less and is not more than 20 feet in height from the top <br />surface of the lowest floor to the highest interior overhead finish (ORS <br />671.030). <br />2.2.2.2. A single-family dwelling or farm building. <br />2.2.2.3. Alterations or repairs that do not involve the structural parts <br />of the building. <br />2.3 Construction Inspection. The engineer or architect in responsible charge <br />of the structural design work shall include in the construction documents special <br />inspections required by Subsection R -8.005-B-7 of these regulations, and other structural <br />inspections required by the engineer or architect in responsible charge of the structural <br />design work. <br />2.4 Information on Plans and Specifications. Plans and specifications shall <br />be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work proposed and <br />show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of the technical codes and all relevant <br />laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. The first sheet of each set of plans shall state the <br />building and street address of the work and the names and addresses of the owner of the <br />land or building where the work is to be done and of the person who prepared the plans. <br />Computations, stress diagrams, and other data sufficient to show the correctness of the <br />plans shall be submitted when required by the Building Official. <br />2.4.1. Structural Plans. Every person making application for work <br />involving a structural permit shall file with the Building Official proper zoning <br />information and structural plans and. calculations as may be necessary to determine <br />whether the proposed work, including, but not limited to, additions, general <br />Administrative Order - Page 13 of 40 <br />
