6.2 Approved Plans. Work requiring a permit shall not be commenced until <br />the permit holder or his/her agent shall have made available the approved building permit <br />plans such as to allow the Building Official to make the required entries thereon regarding <br />inspection of the work. These plans shall be maintained available by the permit holder <br />until final approval has been granted by the Building Official. <br />6.3 Inspection Requests. It shall be the duty of the person doing the work <br />authorized by a permit to notify the Building Official that such work is ready for inspection. <br />The Building Official may require that every request for inspection be filed at least one <br />working day before such inspection is desired. Such request may be in writing or by <br />telephone at the option of the Building Official. It shall be the duty of the person requesting <br />any inspections required either by these regulations or the administrative or technical codes <br />to provide access to and means for inspection of such work. It shall be the duty of the <br />person doing the work authorized by the permit to make sure that the work will pass any <br />test prescribed by the technical codes or these regulations, before giving the above <br />notification. <br />6.4 Approval Required. <br />6.4.1. General. Work shall not be done beyond the point indicated in each <br />successive inspection without first obtaining the approval of the Building Official. <br />Reinforcing steel or structural framework of any part of any building or structure <br />shall not be covered or concealed without first obtaining the approval of the <br />Building Official. The Building Official, upon notification, shall make the <br />requested inspections and shall either indicate that portion of the construction is <br />satisfactory as completed or shall notify the permit holder or his/her agent wherein <br />the same fails to comply with the technical code. Any portions which do not <br />comply shall be corrected and such portion shall not be covered or concealed until <br />authorized by the Building Official. There shall be a final inspection and approval <br />of all buildings and structures when completed and ready for occupancy and use. <br />6.4.2. Prefabricated Construction. A certificate of approval by an <br />approved agency shall be furnished with every prefabricated assembly, except <br />where all elements of the assembly are readily accessible to inspection at the site. <br />Placement of prefabricated assemblies at the building site shall be inspected by the <br />Building Official to determine compliance with the applicable codes, and a final <br />inspection shall be provided in accordance with this section. <br />6.5 Required Building Inspections. The Building Official, upon notification, <br />shall make the following inspections and shall either approve that portion of the <br />construction as completed or shall notify the permit holder or his/her agent wherein the <br />same fails to comply. <br />6.5.1.
