The Agate Street access is terribly congested when the
University is in session because of the single lane between Franklin and 13th. With a Stop sign at 13th the traffic
is sometimes backed up into Franklin Blvd. Furthermore, students crossing Agate between 13th and 15th have
the right of way and often hold up traffic for extended minutes. This means the easiest access is either
considerably east at Villard or considerably west at Patterson. There is nothing else in between. How far is that?
I'd highly recommend a dedicated right turn lane off of Franklin on to Agate. I'd also request that you acknowlege
this situation so that it might be mitigated rather than compounded.

Thank you,
Sally Weston
2595 Highland Drive
97403

City Council Agenda page 279
2/23/2004
