As with
existing population, estimated growth population served is based on projected number of
dwelling units, dwelling unit types and average household size factors. The results are shown in
Table 2.

Table 2: Growth Population Served by Service Area Type

Populatio
Service Area Type n
Existing Park Service Areas 19,764
Expanded Service Areas - Access
Improvements 11,093
Future Park Project Service Areas 11,435
Total 42,292

Existing vs. Growth Population Served

Percentage of existing versus growth population served within neighborhood park service areas
is derived to determine allocation of future projects to growth (improvement fee) and existing
park capacity to growth (reimbursement fee). Table 3 shows existing and growth population
served by existing neighborhood park service areas. These allocation percentages are used to
allocate existing neighborhood park acreage and development costs to growth through the
reimbursement fee. In addition, the percentages in Table 3 are used to determine growth’s share
of costs related to future development of existing park land, which are then recovered through
the improvement fee.

Table 3: Existing Park Service Areas - Population Served

Existing Park Service Areas Population Served

Existing Growth
Population Population Total
Population 86,415 19,764 106,179
Percentage of total population
served 81% 19% 100%

Table 4 shows additional existing and growth population served as a result of future projects, i.e.
within expanded neighborhood park service areas resulting from access improvement projects
B,NPGA P36
ATTACHMENT EIGHBORHOOD ARK ROWTH LLOCATION AGE OF
