<br />A petition was received from the Eugene Fedaration ofWomens' Organization
<br />stating that in its opmnion, Eugene has not adequate milk an}1 meat inspection, and
<br />asking that steps be taken to have properly inspected and stamped meats only sold
<br />within the City. On motion such petition wasslaid on the table.
<br />
<br />A petition was received to pave McKyDrive in McKy Court. Said matter
<br />was referred to the City Attorney to look into the status of the drive being a
<br />legal street of the City.
<br />
<br />Mayor Williamson spoke of the desire of the City to get the Standard Oil
<br />Co. to install a filling station at the Aviation FiedLd, and also :to, install a
<br />beacon light for aeroplanes as heretofore discussedl No official action was taken.
<br />
<br />A gen tleman appeared to address the Council on the matter of furnishing
<br />fire extinguishers for the City Hall. He was directed to s~e the Fire & Water
<br />Committee relative thereto.

<br />The matter of permitting people to erect temporary places of business in
<br />tents or buildings not strilictly complying to all City regulations and not allowing
<br />'them to connect the same with sewers was discussed, it b,eing stated the Inspector
<br />of Bui~gings has sent certain people to the Fire and Water Committee when such
<br />applications had been made. The Fire and Water Committee stated it did not desire
<br />such people sent to it, but that the Inspector of Buildings should look after such
<br />matters, and the Recorder was directed to notify the Inspector of Buildings
<br />accordingly.
