Nelson for the construction of a sanitary sewer <br /> on Twenty-fourth Avenue from Columbia Street to alley East, thence south to <br /> Reed St. on Columbia St. from Twenty-fourth to Indiana Avenue. $1,932.21 <br /> The estimate of Peter A. Nelson for the construction of a sanitary sewer <br /> on Aga te S tl~ee t, Twen ty-fourth Avenue to alley south, thence East to Columbia <br /> Street. $588.60 <br /> I The estimate of Hargreaves & Lindsay for the paving of the alley between <br /> Broadway and loth from alley East of Charnelton Street to the alley west of <br /> Willamette St. $1,020.27 <br /> The estimate of Guy Pyle for the paving of Onyx Street from 13th Avenue <br /> 'h <br /> to 15th Avenue. ;W5,423.47 <br /> The estimate of Hargreaves & Lindsay for the alley paving between Broadway <br /> and lOth Avenue from Charnel ton Street to alley East of Charnel ton Street. <br /> $488.21 <br /> The estimate of Stien Bros. of Paving Mill Street from 16 th Ave. to <br /> 19th Ave. $9,595.46 <br /> Motion was made and seconded that said estimates be allowed. The ayes <br /> and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye, ei ght, nay, none. <br /> Chairman Monroe of the Police committee ruled that the Dodge police patrol <br /> car be turned over to the Engineer's department at a satisfactory value. The <br /> City Engineer having expressed himself as satisfied with this car, and that <br /> the action of the Council to advertise for a car for the Engineer be rescinded <br /> and t ha t instead the Council advertise for either a four or six cylinder four <br /> door open car for the Police department. On motion the reco~nendation was <br /> I adopted. <br /> The Booth Kelly Lumber Company tendered a deed to the City for a strip <br /> of ground running 20 feet on Pearl Street for paving improvement for use of <br /> street purposes, with the understanding that the City should release the assess- <br /> ment on said 20 feet for the co st of Pearl s tree t pa ving impr ovement, amounting <br /> to $82.38. On motion duly seconded and carl~ied it was ordered that the deed <br /> be accepted and recorded, and that the sum of $82.38 be allowed by reduc tion <br /> on the Lien docket. <br /> A peti tion for paving with concrete the alley between lOth and 11th Avenues <br /> from Van Buren to Tyler Streets was read, and on motion granted. <br /> Peti tion for Macadamizing the alley between Onyx and Emerald Streets, from <br /> 19th to 20th Avenues and a cownunication from Geo. E. M. York were read, and <br /> Chairman Large of the Street committee reco~nended that the petition be granted. <br /> - A motion was made, seconded, and carried, adopting the recommendation. <br /> Application of D. P. McGillvary to run a pool room at 450 Willamette Street <br /> with the approval of Chief of Police Strait was ordered granted. <br /> Advise from the Sheriff and Tax collector that foreclosure proceedings had <br /> been commenced against the City of Eugene on Lots 1, 2, and 3, in Block 6, <br /> Lizzie Luckey Addition was read, and upon motion was duly seconded and all <br /> couneilmen voted aye. The recorder was instructed to issue a warrant to co ver <br /> this tax delinquency. <br /> A pe ti ti on fr om res id.ent s on the North Pearl S tree t to remove all obstruc- <br /> tions from the streets along the Walters-Bushong Lumber Company plant was read, <br /> and as it appears that this matter has already been taken care of by an <br /> ordinance providing for the construction of concrete sidewalk at the point in <br /> question, no fur the l"' action was deemed necessary. <br /> The viewers on the matter of opening Columbia Street repol~ted the benefits <br /> I to be derived as not sufficient to justify the expense. Mr. Clubb, Engineer, <br /> stated that since the viewers had formulated their report Mr. McCully had ad- <br /> vised him that the McCully owners would be satisfied with a payment of $200.00 <br /> for the strip proposed to be taken, and also that Mr. Gray would accept payment <br /> for his strip to be taken on the same pro rata basis. Motion was made, seconded, <br /> and carried that the City aClluire these stri,ps by purchase at an approximate <br /> ,price of ~~250.00, and that d.eedsbe secured. <br /> The ordinance levying assessments on a sanitary sewer on Twenty fourth <br /> avenue from Columbia Street to the alley between Columbia Street and South <br /> Moss Street, thence South in said alley and. along Chula Vista Boulevard to <br /> Reed Avenue; On Columbia Street from Twenty fourth Avenue to Indiana Avenue, <br /> .~ <br />
