<br />ordered that the protest of Mr. Enright in connection with the payment of his fJ:

<br />Tvlr. Clubb also reported that the repair bill of $8.25, which Walter Zarewski
<br />had presented to the council, had been incurred because of a clogged condition
<br />of the main line of the Ci ty sewer. A motion was made and seconded that a warrant
<br />be (~awn in favor of Mr. Zarewski for $8.25. The ayes and nays were called, all
<br />councilmen present voting aye, nay, none, absent Washburne.

<br />A communication from the Eugene Milk Producers Assn., expreSSing approval
<br />of the cities enforcement of the milk ordinance and assuring their cooperation with
<br />the milk inspector, was read and placed on file.

<br />The recorder was instructed to get prices for various parking signs required
<br />under the new traffic law.

<br />A comnmnica t i on from Ge orge O. Goodall, que st ioning the legali ty of the

<br />Chairman of Street Co~nittee recommended the purchase of a paving cutting

<br />Applications for rooming permits of Clarence H. Preston for the Central
<br />Hotel, ancl 1Tae Urick at 57'~ West Sixth Ave. with the O. K. of the Chief of Police,
<br />were ordered granted.

<br />I A petition was presented for the construction of a sidewalk on the West side
<br />of Aga te Stree t be tween 24th &: 25th Avenues. Chairman Lamb 0 f the S tree t commi t tee
<br />recommended that the sidewalk be constructed, but that the same should be con-
<br />structed on the East side of said street, that side being built up 'vvith residences.
<br />A mo tion was made, seconded, and carried tha t a walk be constructed and that
<br />ordinances be .prepared therefor.

<br />l\Ir. Roy H. Hewi tt ap,peared before the Council311d stated that he had no
<br />objections to the ordinance levying assessments for reassessing the paving of a
<br />portion of Villard Street from Franklin Boulevard to 19th Avenue and withdrew any
<br />o'bjections thereto. The o'bjections of M. B. Gilmore and J. M. Devers, having been
<br />duly considered, a motion was made, seconded and carried that said objections be
<br />denied. ,Whereon the ordinance was read the second and third time and placed upon
<br />its fInal passage. The ayes and nays were called, all councilmen voting aye, nay,
<br />none, absent Washburne. The Ordinance was declared passed g.nd numbered 7711.

<br />Bonds of the City of Eugene, Oregon, and directing that they be advertised for

<br />Oregon Laws, commonly known as the TlBancroft Bonding Act." was read the first time,
<br />and passed its second and thi1"d readings by title by unanimous consent under sus-
