<br />The Police Committee by Councilman :Lamb recommended the police ford touring
<br />car be turned into the Packard garage as part of the purchase price of a Lincoln
<br />Phaeton, Motor No. 15307, The Phaeton to cost the City $650 and the City to be
<br />credi ted in exchange :in the sum of $425; and a warrant to be drawn for the balance
<br />of $225.00 in favor of the Packard Garag's, and also that the Ci ty' s insurance be
<br />cancelled on the,ford touring car and be written on the Lincoln car. The ayes and
<br />nays were called, all councilmen voting aye, nay, none, absent Monroe, Washburne,
<br />and La rge .

<br />Mayor Wilder stated that Mr. Wilkins, Chairman of the Park Board, desired to
<br />employ about two men to trim the trees about the City, and the Council expressed
<br />itself as favorable ~o this work if, kept within the limitation of the budget.

<br />Mayor Wilder offere d hi s re s1 gna t ion as a member of the Board of Appeals,
<br />and sugge ste d the name of Roy Stein to fill the vacancy. On mot ion it was ordered
<br />that the resignation be accepted and that Roy Stein be appointed to fill said
<br />vac.8.1lCY.

<br />Councilman Simon recommended that the fire department send out some of their
<br />men to check the condition of fire hazarlis throughout the city.
<br />
<br />Councilman Lamb called the attention of the Council to the objection by :Mr.
<br />Campbell to the placing of no parking signs on the South side of Broadway East of
<br />Hilyard. As it appeared that signs were placed according to the ordinance, no
<br />action was taken.
<br />
<br />The City Engineer stated that the Columbia Street paving job from the South
<br />margin of 23rd Avenue to the South margin of Reed Avenue, in the Ci ty of Eugene,
<br />was completed and that it was all right to release the the remainder of the
<br />estimate, amounting to $684.28, to Hargreaves & Lindsay.
