Motion was made, ,seoonded, and ~ <br /> carried that the recommendation be adopted, and that the annual bUdget committee <br /> . be urged to include in its budget a sufficient fund for the above purpose. <br /> ~. ~ <br /> Councilmen Simon and Lamb related that the present police merchant patrol <br /> was not proving satisfactory and recommended that the council take steps to pro- <br /> vide adequate police patrol and to replace the merchant.patrolmen with regular <br /> City patrolmen, and it appearing that an ordinance is necessary to change the <br /> present provision in this respect, it is ordered that th~ City Attorney prepare <br /> the necessary ordinance. <br /> The Police Committee recommended the employment of Ralph W. Weir as a <br /> patrolman, his appointment to cover from October 18th at a salary of $125.00 per <br /> .' month, and he to be placed on the regular pay roll of the City at this rate, and <br /> the Recorder instructed to draw salary warrants at the customary time. Motion <br /> was made and seconded to adopt the recommendation. The ayes and nays were called, <br /> all councilmen voting aye, nay, none, absent Monroe. <br /> A claim of personal injury was presented to the council in behalf of Mr. <br /> Misfeldt, wno resides on his property on the North side of the Butte in Riverside <br /> Park. It is claimed that Mr. Misfeldt had received an ,injury to his leg by bruis- <br /> ing it on a protruding root along the river front. A motion was made, seconded, <br /> and carried that the City Attorney be authorized to settle this claim for the sum <br /> of t150.00, obtaining a .release in full for the claim of damages, and the Recorder <br /> authorized to issue a warrant in this amount upon receipt of proper release. The <br /> ayes and nays were called, all councilmen voting aye, nay, none, absent Monroe., <br /> street Commissioner LeVan was instructed to provide a required culvert, <br /> so that Mr. Misfeldt could have access from his property to the road along the <br /> North side of the But te. <br /> On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> I R.
