Councilman Reid moved .that the matter <br />be referred to the Police Committee with power to act, which motion was withdrawn, <br />there being no second, and the motion was made that the two extra policemen be <br />laid off and their salaries be paid ou,t of the. emergency fund by the recorder for <br />the time due them.
