<br />On motion, it was ordered that the Chief of Polioe take steps to have the
<br />street,oleanel1 up at onoe at the Southeast corner of 13th and Willamette streets.

<br />The question, of whether or not the City Attorney should represent the
<br />City in the State trial of Mike Dutchuk indicted for the killing of Patrolman,
<br />Hal Hall, was referred to the Judiciary Committee with power to act.

<br />The S'tree t Gommi t tee reoommended that steps be taken, for the, opening of
<br />8 street or alley from First Avenue to Second Avenue, between Block Seven of
<br />Ri~erwood and Block Three of Travis' Addition. On motion the recommendation was
<br />adopted.

<br />, Mayor Wilder 'announced the resignat,ion of Gertrude S. ,Allen from the
<br />Library Board and appointed Mrs. Wm. M. Tugman to fill the vacancy, and the ap-
<br />pointment was on motion confirmed by the Council.

<br />Mayor Wilder named the following appointees to City Offices, together
<br />with designated salaries of all appointees,and including the salaries of City
<br />Reoorder and Gi ty Treasurer.
