The matter was refel~red to the stx'eet committee. <br /> <br />At this time Councilman Reid appeared in Council. <br /> <br />The l'eCJ.uest of Carlson, Hatton &; Hay Inc. to cut curb and construct <br />-driveways on the West side of Oak Street bet'ween lOth Avenue ana. alley South was <br />on motion referred to the street comnittee with power to act. <br /> <br />.' <br /> <br />Ci ty Attorney Calkins sta ted -tha t J\11'. Sharon was complaining about a <br />sidewalk at thE: East side Cleaners location being 4 inches to 6 inches below grade. <br />The 1~tter was referred to the street comnittee.- <br /> <br />Chail~man Edwards of the Judiciary Comilli ttee reported on the claini of W. <br />K. Wal.lz:er that it was the opinion of the committee that the act of the City <br />Treasurer in certifying as to liens against portion of Lots 1 and 2 of Bloc]\: Two <br />in Hendrick's Amended Addi tion was a clerical error, and that the Ci ty was not <br />re sponsib Ie and. the claim should be, di sallowed. On motion the ,rec ommenda tion "vas <br />adopted. <br /> <br />I'ir. Bdwards also discussed the x'e!J.uest, for sat isfaction of the Ci ty' s <br />judgment against W. T. Campbell, and retul~Yled the matter for consideration of the <br />full council. After some discussion, a motion was made, seconded, and carried <br />that the rnattel~ be laid on the table. <br /> <br />fJ . <br /> <br />No action was deemed adviseable concerning f'unds of the City involved <br />in the Kountz :Bros. banl(ru})t proceedings. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. ]idwards also recommended tha t the Card Room O_rdina.nce be read a <br />second reading and he laid over for f'urther consideration. <br /> <br />As Council member of the Park Board., Hr. EdwaI'ds .r>ecommended that the <br />Ci ty offer a cow elk to the Elk Lodge of Ashland, Ore[;on, for the sum of $60.00; <br />they to recei vet the elk here at that price. <br /> <br />Councilman Hendershott of the Finance Committee l'elJorted the following <br />bills to the Council wi th the recoLnmendation that they be allo"vved, and moti on <br />was made and seconded that warrants be dx'awn for the same.
