<br /> floor of the building Imown as the Oi ty Hall, situated on the West side of." Will-
<br /> amette Street, between Eleventh and Tw~lf"th Streets., in Eugene, Oregon, for the
<br /> purpose of a Government office fol' a term :rl'om July Is t, 1932, .and ending wi th
<br /> July 31, 1932, and thereafter from month to month until June 30, 1933, subj ec t
<br /> to the right of ei ther party to terminate t,his le'ase on one calendar month's
<br /> no't ice; satisfactory heating and lighting fixtures etc. to be furnished by the
<br /> lessor, and that the Mayor and Re'Corder are hereby authorized to execute saidn
<br /> lease in quadruplicate on behalf" of the City. ([
<br /> Moti'on was made, seconded, and carried to adopt said resolution.
<br /> A resolution ap'proving and ratifying the assignment of the contract of
<br /> - the City 01' Eugene with the Hobi Airways Company Inc., a Washing,ton Corporation,
<br /> to the Hobi Air Service, Inc., an Oregon Corporation, was read, an~ motion was
<br /> made, seconded, and carried to adopt the resolution, of which the following is
<br /> a copy:

<br /> Whereas, heretofore the City of Eugene has entered into and for several
<br /> years has maintained a contract wi th Hobi Air-ways Company, Inc., a Washington
<br /> Corporation, under the terms 01' 1JIla.iCih the City has leased: its airport property
<br /> to said company and the said company has operated an airport on said premises,
<br /> and
<br /> Vihereas, the Hobi Air-ways Company, Inc., a Washington corporation, has
<br /> I withdrawn from the State of Oregon and is no longer authorized to do business
<br /> ~
<br /> in the State of Oregon, and the members of the Hobi Air-ways Company, Inc., have
<br /> organi zed an Oregon corporation knOWtl as Hobi Air Service, Inc., and desires t,o
<br /> take over the con trac t wi th the Ci ty of' Eugene,
<br /> Therefore
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF EUGENE that t.he Hobi Air-ways Company, Inc.
<br /> a Washington corporation, baving assigned its contract with the City of Eugene,
<br /> to the Hobi Air Servi ce, Inc., a cor porati on, the said assignment is hereby ap-
<br /> proved and ratified hy tche City 01' Eugene and the City of Eugene will henceforth
<br /> '. hold itself bound by the co ntrac t with the Hob i Air Service, Inc., an Oregon

<br /> A communication from the Secretary of the Oregon Fire Chie:r's Association
<br /> and their re solut ion and a pr opo sed ord.lname., regulating capacity of tanks and
<br /> quantity 01' gasoline to be stored in underground tanks, was read and re:rerred to
<br /> the Fire and Water Committee.
<br /> An Ordinance to amem Section 37 of" Ordinance No. 1523 was read and re-
<br /> :rerl"ed to the Sewer Cornmi ttee.
<br /> The semi-annual report of the Ci ty Recorder waa pre sented to the Counei 1.
<br /> :Mayor Large explained to t,he Council t,ha t the Ci ty and County had been
<br /> I operating as a uni t in the employment of a Healt.h O:rf"icer, and that County Health
<br /> Of :ricer Kerron had resigned from the County service, and that the County had
<br /> appointed Dr. Romig as County Health O:rficer and desired the cooperation of the
<br /> City in maintaining this office. Motion was made, seconded, and carried that
<br /> the Cit;y accept the resignation of Dr. S. M. Kerron to take effect August 1st.
<br /> Mayor Large thereupon appointed Dr. Romig as Ci ty Health Officer tOo succeed Dr.,
<br /> Kerron, and mot,i on was made, seeonded, and earried confirming the appointment
<br /> by the Council. Motion was made and seconded that the Recorder be instructed to
<br /> draw warrants for the salary of Dr. Romig, which is hereby fixed at $50.00 per
<br /> month, at the same time that salaries of other employees are paid, with the
<br /> understanding that in the event, too t ou tside Doctors are required on Ci ty emer-
<br /> . gency cases and it is impossible to locate Dr. Romig or his, assistant that in
