<br />I, Councilman Hendershott of the Finance Committee recommended that the City
<br />Treasurer be authorized to accept Series A-B and. A-C Bancroft Imorovement Bonds at
<br />face value as payment on City Liens. On motion.this recommendation was adopted 'by

<br />The request of the C.C.C. for a lease on the property back of the Butte was
<br />referred to the Judiciary Co~nittee, City Attorney, and City Engineer. The C.C.C.
<br />had said that they would be willing to undertake to make some improvements to the
<br />I ball park, and the City Engineer was instructed to consult with the officials and
<br />see vlhat could be worked out. .

<br />1.378.4 feet, including the crossing at Almaden Stre~t, had been posted after the
<br />, Council meeting of Jll.ly.24th. Objections to this Ordinance vvere called for at this
<br />time, and protests against the same were filed by lIr. Balcer and Ers. Stevens. The I
<br />protests were overruled, and the Ordinance levying assessments for the construction
<br />of a cement sidewalk on the North side of Highth Avenue West from the West line of
<br />Almaden S tree t easte rly 378.4 fee t, including the gross ine; a t Almaden Street, was
<br />read. the first time and pas~ed its second and thirg. readings under suspension of th
<br />rule'by unanimous consent of the Council, and was placed upon its final passage.
<br />The aye s and nays were called, Counc ilman voting aye 6, nay none, absent Scobert
<br />and Simon. The Ordinar~e was declared passed and numbered 8356.
