The Recorder called too the attention of the Council the relluests of the holders of Contractor's Improvement Wal"rants of the City for permission to apply these warrants in pa~nent of property assessments, and this matter was referred to 'I the City Attorney and Judiciary Committee for report. A Communication relating to the authorization of the Fire Department, by " Ordinance, to give fire protection beyond the city limits was laid over on retluest of Councilman Bond. A Resolution authorizing and confirming the act of the IIIayor and Recorder in executinG a deed on behalf of the Eugene Water Boal"d to ( ) Barne'S and ( , Barnes grantees for a two and one-half acre tract in Section 2, Township 17 South Range I East, was presented and motion was made seconded and carried to adopt the resolution. \ RES 0 L UTI 0 N Whereas, heretofore the City of Eufene, acting by and through the Eugene Water Board, aCtluired the following described property, to-wit: .; That part of the \~fest half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 17 South Range 1 East, Willamette Ueridian, commonly known as the Aya place, lying South of the new f\IcKenzie Highway a.'ld West of the old McKenzie HiGhway, being more particul- arly described as follows: Beginning at a point at the intersection of the South rine of Section 2, Township 17 South Range 1 East, Willamette Mel~idian, vvith the Southerly right of way line of the new lIcKenzie Highway, said point being 612.4 feet N01"th 88 degrees 50 feet East from the Quarter section corner on the South line of said Section 2, and running thence Easterly along the South line of said Section 2, North 88 degrees 50 feet East 702.3 feet to an iron rail at the Southeast corner of the ';Iest half of the Southeast Cluarter of said Section 2, thence North along the East line of said ~est half of . Southeast Iluarter 90 feet, more or less, to the Southerly right of way line of the old UcKenzie Highway, thence Northwesterly along .1 said right of wfJ:y line 320 feet, mOl"e or 1 ess, to the Southerly " right of way line of the new LIcKenzie HiGhway, thence Southwesterly , along said right of way line South 58 degrees 15' West 506 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing 2.5 acres, more or less, all in Lane County, Oregon. as a part of the Leaburg Extension of the City's pUblic utility plant, and now at this time the City of Eugene, actine tl~ough its Council and through its Water .
