S. <br />Shelley, Plaintiff, ~s. Charles W. Elliott, etal, is noted in these minutes. <br /> <br />T~e following Resolution was read and motion made, seconded and carried for <br />its adoption: <br /> <br />t.:J <br />C-11 <br /> <br />,WII:~ <br /> <br />, <br />",,0::,. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />.: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Eugene has observed with great <br />satisfaction the highway improvements being made in this section of the state, all <br />of which furnish avenues of approach to and from the City of Eugene, and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council has interviewed and secured from the Hon. Carl <br />G. Washburne a general statement of the activities of the Highway Commission and <br /> <br />the development work being carried fo~vard by them, and <br />\VHEREAS, criticisms have been launched at various times which the Council <br />feels to have been unauthorized and unjust. tending t'o leave an impression with the <br />State Highway Commission of a lack of appreciation of the splendid work being done <br />by that body for the state in general, and for thi s portion 0 f the sta be in part- <br /> <br />icular, <br /> <br />THEREFORE <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C01~ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE: <br /> <br />That the development and maintenance work being carried on in the State of <br />Oregon, a1nd in this portion of the state in particular, by the state Highway <br />Commission, is, in the juqgment of the Common Council of the City of Eugene, being <br />carried forward in a most intelligent and disinterested manner, and the Common <br /> <br />Council desires too t there be communicated to the State Highway Commission its <br />strong endorsement of the Policies being carried fo.r:ward by the Commission and its <br />appreciation of the services rendered to the state in general, and to this vi~inity <br />in particular. <br /> <br />.: <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Recorder be and he is hereby directed <br />to spread this Resolution upon the Council's record, and to forward a copy to the <br />State Highway Cemmission on behalf of the City CoUncil. <br />Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, February 13, 1934. <br /> <br />-0- <br /> <br />The Following Resolution was read and on motion, duly seconded and carried, <br />adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, there was presented to the City of Eugene a triplicate agreement <br />between the Southern Pacific Company, licensor, and the City, licensee, for the <br />construction of a 24 inch Sewer from a point in the Licensor's Northeasterly right <br />of way line to a point in the Southwesterly right of way line, crossing beneath <br />tracts now or hereafter existing, and not less than three (3) feet below. base ot <br />ties of said track, at Engineer's Station 1009-39.3, at a consideration of $5.00, <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />~ <br />
