<br /> The Recorder reported applications as follows for rebonding delinquent
<br /> assessments, and on motion of the Council duly seconded and carried the
<br /> applications were accepted:

<br />. This being the time for the hearing of protests, remonstances, and objections
<br /> against the proposed condemnation of the building at 526 Willamette Street, and
<br /> due notice having been giyen, the matter came on for hearing at this time, and lVLr.
<br /> N. R. Gaylord appeared before the Council and spoke at length in opposition to the
<br /> proposed proceedings, after which the following Resolution was read and a motion
<br /> made, seconded and carried to adopt the same. (
<br /> RESOLUTION
<br /> This matter coming on to be heard before the Common Council
<br /> of the City of Eugene, pursuant to notice, on the 13th day of August,
<br /> 1934, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., of said day in the office of the City
<br /> Recorder of the City of Eugene, in the Ci ty Hall of said Ci ty in
<br />I Lane County, Oregon, and it appearing to the council that complaint~
<br /> have been made by residents and proprietors of business houses situated
<br /> near the property herein described, and reports have been made by the
<br /> Chief of Police, the City Attorney, the Chairman of the Health Committee,
<br /> the Fire Chief and the Building Inspector, declaring said .buildin to be
<br /> dangerous buildings in fact, and dangerous buildings under the provisions
<br /> of Ordinance No. 8292, and a nuisance, the Council thereupon proceeded
<br /> to a hearing, and examined various ~rsons upon behalf of the City,
<br /> including various city officers, and members of the Council who had
<br />. inspected the building, and the defendant N. R. Gaylord appeared before
<br /> the Council and presented his side of the controversy, and \~s given
<br /> opportunity to present any and all testimony, arguments and statements
<br /> on behalf of himself and wife, and the Coungil after having heard all
<br /> remonstrances, protests and objections and being fully advised in the
<br /> premises, at this time makes its findings, as follows:

<br /> 'First that the said building be and the same is hereby declared
<br /> to be a~,dangerous building as a matter of fact, and also the same is
<br />I hereby.declared to be a dangerous building as lefined by Ordinance No.
<br /> 8292, adopted by the City of Eugene, on the 9th day of May, 1934.

<br /> Second that said building be and the sarne is hereby declared
<br /> /
<br /> to be a pUblic nuisance.
<br /> Third, that owimg to the dilapidated, rotted and dangerous
<br /> condition of the building and the unsanitary condition thereof, and
