That the greater portion of said buildings were formerly <br /> used as a rooming house but have not been used or occupied for the past <br /> II sevel"'al years. That no insurance is being carried upon said buildings, <br /> I <br /> II and no inc ome is derived from the~~ That both of said buildings are I <br /> Ij frame structures, one of which is a two story building, and said <br /> II <br /> buildings are in a bad state of disrepair. That there is danger of <br /> '1 <br /> t <br /> , <br /> timbers falling and injuring persons at any time. That said buildings <br /> are in such close proximity to the surrounding buildings that they <br /> constitute a serious fire hazard to said other buildings. Tha t the <br /> larger building is heated by an old stove and stovepipe in the front <br /> room used as a shop and there is no electric lighting, and the re is <br /> \ <br /> very great danger of fire from the illumination used. That it is <br /> impossible to lock up said buildings and they constitute a lurking 11 <br /> place for tramps and disreputable characters. That the rooms are <br /> filled with rubbish and ill smelling mateTials, whidh is a breeding <br /> place for germs and disease qnd is a meance to the health of the <br /> surrounding cO~TIllnity and to the City of Eugene, That the buildings <br /> constitute a veritable trap for children on account of broken boards <br /> in the floors, and the possibility mf falling timbers, and is an attract- <br />II ive nuisance. <br />II The Common Council of the City of Eugene the refo re orders and directs I <br /> that said buildings be removed and the nuisance abated, and the City <br />I <br /> I Recorder is hereby ordered and directed to give fifteen days notice to <br /> I n. T. Gaylord and Laura M. Gaylord as o~mers of said buildings, req.uiring <br /> I <br /> I them to remove said buildings and abate <br />I the nuisance within thirty days <br />l from the expiration of the fifteen days notice, and if they fail so to do, <br /> . <br />~.I <br />
