Ackerman for the return of-$5.00, liquor license <br />investigation fee, upon report of Chief Bergman that no investigation had been <br />made and that Mr. Ackerman had m~ved outside the city limits, was on motion d~y <br />seconded and carried granted. <br /> <br />w <br /> <br />~ <br />..t.,", <br />':. )....... <br /> <br />The Mayor brought up the matter of the apparent excessive cost of heating th~;._ <br />City Hall under the present system, and it was moved, seconded and carried that a <br />Comrni ttee be appointed to discuss the question wi th the Water Board. . The .Mayor <br />referred the matter to the Fire and Water Committee. '- <br /> <br />City Attorney Calkins stated that he had received communication asking for <br />the at.titude of the City Council upon pending legislation concerning making it <br />mandatory that all cities of 5,000 or more population submit to the proposition <br />of civil service examinations on their pOlice and fire department employees at <br />the next primary or general election, as a special proposal. It was moved, <br />seconded and carried that the Recorder communicate with Lane County's Representat- <br />ives and Senators as being unfavorable to the bill. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br />C.
