<br /> That the shingles are dry and curled up and the interior is filled with rags and
<br /> other combustible material. That there is no sewer connection and it is a breeding
<br /> place for disease. That all of the windows and doors are broken out, and although
<br /> it has been attempted to board up some of them, the building can be easily entered
<br /> and it constitutes a hangout for tr8J.!lps and disreputable characters. That said
<br /> I building is also an attractive nuisance for children to play therein.
<br /> . The Common Council of the City of Eugene therefore orders and directs that
<br /> said building be removed and the nuisance abated, and the City Recorder is hereby
<br /> ordered and directed to give fifteen days notice to Manluf McBee, Merle McBee and
<br /> Neva Gibson, the owners of said building, requiring them to remove said building
<br /> and abate the nuisance within twenty days from the expiration of the fifteen days
<br /> ..
<br /> notice, and if they fail so to do, that the Council shall thereupon call for bids
<br /> and order and direct by Ordinance the removal of the building, and assess the cost
<br /> thereof upon the property benefitted, as provided by said Ordinance No. 8292.

<br /> The Recorder presented a proposed Resolution on the Water Board Bonds, and it/
<br /> developed that there were four ways to present it to the people for their ~
<br /> consideration as follows:
<br /> 1. Assumption by the Water Board of the principal and inter~est on the
<br /> Water Bonds now held by the City of Eugene, in the amount of $93,340.45.
<br /> 2. The assumption by the Water Board of the principal and interest on the
<br /> Water Bonds now held by the City of Eugene, in the amount of $93,340.45
<br /> as of the date of their assumption by the City of Eugene.
<br /> 3. The assumption by the Water Board of $61,489.44 principal, and interest
<br /> on the full amount of $93,340.45 now held by the City of Eugene.
<br /> 4. The assumption by the Water Board of $61,489.44 principaY and interest.
<br /> e: Upon motion this was referred to the Budget Committee to be brought up at the
<br /> meeting of October 30th, at which time they will stipulate which form they wish
<br /> the Council to present to the people.
<br /> I The ,Mayor presented the proposition of the Sewage Disposal Plant, and after
<br /> consider,able d,i'scussion and pointing out of the amount that would have to be
<br /> expend~~'befo~e we would be able to present this to'the people for a vote, and the
<br /> question a~ to whether the people would approve such a proposition at this time
<br /> lead'to th~ moti6n that the Sewage Disposal Plant be dropped. Motion was seconded
<br /> and the ayes and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, Simon,
<br /> Bond, Harris and Carlson. Nay, Reid. Absent Zumwalt.
<br /> The'Recorder was instructed by the Council to write a letter to the Eugene
<br /> Wate.r:/,;Board, asking them for the usual 25 per cent discount on ci ty bills for

<br /> I ;',' The Recorder was also instructed to write a letter of apprecl~tion to the'
<br /> Fire Dhief and members of the Eugene Fire Department for their good done in
<br /> behalf of the Fire Prevention Program.
