Councilman Hendershott moved that it be put on the ballot, I <br /> '.~~ and Councilman Carlson seconded the,motion. The <br /> Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8449. <br /> An Ordinance declaring the intention of the Common Council of the City of <br /> EU8ene to make a reassessment of the cost of paving Fourteenth Avenue from <br /> Willamette Street to Alder Street in the City of Eugene, as the same abuts upon <br /> the properties hereinafter described, and fixing a time and place for holding a <br /> meeting of the Common Council at which all protests against such reassessment shall <br /> be heard, and directing the giving of notices, was read the first time and passed <br /> its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rule by the <br /> unanimous consent of tl~ Council and was placed upon its final passage. The ayes <br /> and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye 8, nay none, absent none. The <br /> Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8450. . <br /> II <br /> I The Recorder pointed out that petitions were ready for circulation on the <br /> $1.00 a year for city light and Water service, and the Water Bonds amounting to <br /> $93,340.45. Councilman Simon made the remark that these petitions would most <br /> certainly be filled and there would be no difficulty at all in Eetting signatures. <br /> I Councilman Carlson reiterated Councilman Simon's statement, and the Mayor expressed <br /> the opinion that inasmuch as the City was holding a special election on January <br /> 31, 1936 that if the Council wished to reconsider their former action and by <br /> Resolution place these questions on the ballot, they still had ample time, and he <br /> could see no reason why they should not do it. After a short discussion the follow <br /> I ing Resolutions were read and Councilman Simon moved and Councilman Carlson <br /> seconded the motion that the Resolutions be adopted, putting these two measures, <br /> as the petitions now call for, on the ballot at the January 31, 1936 Special <br /> Election. All Councilmen voting aye, with the exception of Lamb and Reid. <br /> R E S-O L UTI 0 N I <br /> .
