That Section 152 of the Charter of t,he Ci ty of <br /> . Eugene adopted at the general city election held in the City of <br /> Eugene April 6, 1914, be and the same is hereby repealed ins6far <br /> only as it conflicts with the provisions of this Act. <br /> BALLOT TITLE <br /> There is hereby submitted as a proposed ballot title the <br /> I following: <br /> I Cl-LI',.R'rER AMENDMENT <br /> I PROPOSED BY RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EUGENE AND REFERRED TO THE ELECTORS: <br /> ASSUMPTION OF BUTTE PROPERTY BONDS: Shall the Charter <br /> of the City of Eugene, Oregon, be amended by an Act <br /> requiring the Eugene Water Board to assume the payment <br /> of the sum of $93,340.45 principal of the Butte Property <br /> Water Bonds and interest thereon from January 1, 1936, <br /> and relieving the City of Eugene from the payment <br /> I thereof by taxation. ,- <br /> I ) VOTE YES OR 1~0 <br /> 502 YES <br /> I 503 NO <br /> I <br /> , <br /> Ie <br /> The Mayor brought up the subject of all night parking in Fire Zone No.1, <br /> and the Police were instructed to keep that zone clear. <br /> Councilman Simon brought up the subject of 19th and Willalnette Streets as a <br /> traffic hazard, and thought that it ~as the proper thing to do to make East 19th <br /> as it enters Willamette a stop street, and remove the stop sign from Wi11amette <br /> I at 19th, thus making Willamette Street a through street. Councilmen Zumwalt, <br /> I Bond and Carlson all endorsed this. Councilman Zumwalt moved that East 19th <br /> I Street at its Willamette junction, be made a stop street, and make Willamette a <br /> through street. Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> ~ <br /> Councilman Simon suggested putting stop signs on the other streets coming <br /> into Willamette beyond 19th. <br /> I 11th Street and several other streets were suggested as possible streets for <br /> the use of stop signs to better traffic conditions. ' <br /> Councilman Har~is moved that the City place speed limit signs of 25 miles per <br /> hour at all entrances to the City.
