<br />Councilman Bond reported that the Manager of the Hoffman Hotel had requested
<br />permission to move a street lamp a distance of about 5 feet, and they had taken it "1'
<br />up with the Water Board and had agreed to pay all costs. Councilman Bond moved'
<br />that this request be granted providing there are no assessments against the same.
<br />Motion was seconded and carried.

<br />Councilman Zumwalt reported that the Street Committee would like permission to
<br />tear down or have torn down an old barn situated on the property that was recently
<br />purchased for the Street Department barns. Councilman Lamb moved that the Street
<br />Committee be given the power to remove this, and the motion was seconded and
<br />carried.

<br />Coun~ilman Simon, Chairman of the Police Committee presented the following
<br />applications for renewal of beer licenses, and recommended that they all be
<br />approved. Motion was made, seconded and carried to adopt this recommendation:

<br />Councilman Simon reported that the Committee had held hearings on the four
<br />applications that had ncr.tbeen approved at the previous meeting, and wished to
<br />report as follows:, That the application of Johnson and Johnson, and the applicat-
<br />ion of Miller & Sylvester be not granted.. And that the application of Hinshaw,
<br />Findley & Oldham. be granted; and that the application of Charles M. Munson be
<br />granted with the provision that he satisfactorily change his location within " a
<br />period of 60 days. It was moved, seconded and carried that these recommendations
<br />be approved by the Council.

<br />A letter was read concerning the installation of Radio Transmitters from Le~ls
<br />Radio and Electric Service, and the same was referred to the Police Committee.

<br />A letter from L. J. Plowman concerning the" waiving of interest ahd assessments
<br />due on his property in Mathews Park Addition, was read and referred to the
<br />Engineer and City Attorney.

<br />A letter from the Zoning Board of Appeals was presented, in which they
<br />recommend that the request of B. J. Clark for permission to construct a service
<br />building 8' x e' on his property at 1695 East 13th Ave. be granted; and the
<br />request of Pete Johnson, by Wells & Wells, asking for a reclassification of certain
<br />l~ts at the corner of 6th Ave. West and Fillmore Streets, be referred to the
<br />Planning Commission. On motion duly seconded ahd carried these necommendations
<br />w&re approved by the Council.

<br />Protests on the proposed increase on the price of milk from Lewis Baer was
<br />pr.esented.

<br />Department, and the Police Department, were read and ordered filed.' '

<br />The following bids for ~he lease of the Airport were opened and read~ T. L.
<br />Burbee, Portland, Oregon and Harold E. Sander of Eugene, Oregon. These bids were
<br />referred to the Judiciary Committee.

<br />The following bids for gasoline for the City of Eugene for 1936, were opened
<br />at^this time: Standard Oil Compamy of Calif., 13.29, Union Oil Company, 13.35,
<br />General Petroleum Corp., 13.35, Shell Oil Company, 13.35, and Associated Oil
<br />Company, 13.35. Motion was made, seconded and carried to accept the lowest bid,
<br />and the Mayor and Recorder were instructed to enter into a contract with the
<br />Standard Oil Company of Calif. for the gasoline'needs of the City of Eugene for
<br />1936. '
