I RESOLUTION .~'-' :.~ WHEREAS, the City of Eugene has been notified of an allocation of ,s;p ::. public moneys to be expended in the acquisition of property and - the erection of additional postoffice building facilities, and WHEREAS, it is found necessary that a portion of an alley shall I be appropriated to said use and the persons owning property ab- utting upon said alley are the Federal government occupying the I present postoffice property, and F. L. Chambers owning and occupy- . ing a lot which is to be also appropriated for the erection of 0 I said structure, and I WHEREAS, it is necessary that a vacation be had of that portion of the alley to be utilized for said post office building~ Therefore BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of Eugene, that a hearing ,is hereby called to be held in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Eugene on the 24th day of August, 1~36~ at 7:30 o'clock P. M.. at which time there will be presented I for passage an ordinance vacating the alley running East and West I through Block 3 of Skinnerfs Donation in Eugene, Lane County, I Oregon, insofar as the same abuts upon and lies between Lots 4 and 5 of said Block 3. And the City Recorder be and he is hereby directed to publish a notice in the Eugene Register-Guard, which is hereby designated as the city official newspaper for such purpose, once each week for four successive weeks, and to post three of such notices in the most public places in said city. . Such notice shall describe the alley sought to be vacated giving the date of this Resolution and the fact that it was submitted by the Common Council, together with a statement that any objections or remonstrances made in writing and filed with the City Recorder prior to the time of the hearing will be he~rd and considered, and the Recorder is further directed to cause to be posted at each end of the proposed alley vacation a copy of said notice which shall be headsd "Notice of Street Vacation". The notice shall be I published in five consecutively weekly issues of said newspaper, and the costs of the publication shall be defrayed by the City. At said hearing the Council shall hear all remonstrances and ob-. jections, and either pass an. ordinance vacating said alley or re- fuse to do so.. .' ) ~ ~
