Scott's =ddition, <br /> / in the amount of $300.00, was duly seconded, and the matter placed in the hands <br /> 9 of the city appraisal committee to determine the value of the property. <br /> Chairman Lamb of the street Committee made a motion that truck traff.ic be <br /> re-routed. fhe new route from the south would follow by way of Franklin Boulevard <br /> at the intersection of 8th street, west on 8th to Pearl street, thence north on <br /> ./ Pearl street to 5th and west on 5th to the junction of the Pacific Highway north. <br /> 10 This motion was se~onded and approved. <br /> . Councilman Lamb also suggested that the managers of the local bus service <br /> I be contacted and mention of re-routing their downtown route be made, so that the <br /> ! busses would operate on Olive and Oak Streets rather than on Willamette street. <br /> / This was referred to the Police Committee, Street Committee and City Engineer and <br />f 11 I they are to make the necessary investigation. <br /> Fire and 'fiater Commi ttee by chairman Bond requested installation of S.treet <br /> I light at 22nd and Hilyard streets and the removal of lamp standard in front of <br /> Rex Theatre, the cost of the removal to be borne by Mr. McDonald. It was moved and <br /> ./ seconded that the recommendations of the Fire and Water Committee be adopted and it <br /> 12 was so ordered. <br /> Councilman Bond, acting chairman of the Police Committee, recommended trans- <br /> / fer of retail beer license and package store class "AU license of Brigg's and Peck's <br /> I Cafe. Upon motion made and seconded, recommendation of Police Committee was ap- <br /> 13 proved. <br /> Councilman Bond stated that he had received a request from Mrs. Eunice A. <br /> Studley, 291 West 10th Avenue, for permission to mark off curb with yellow paint <br /> in front of her residence so that she might have access to her prop~rty at all hours <br /> of the day. In the discussion that followed, it was pointed out that if such a re- <br /> J quest were granted to one party, that the city would have to submit to all si~ilar <br /> 14 requests.
