<br />was recommended by the Board of Appeals on the condition that the plans meet the

<br />The request of Eugene Construction Company by Fred Getchell for a permit to
<br />erect a four-apartment house, costing approximately $10,000 on Lot 2, Block 2,
<br />,21 Lizzie Luckey Addition was referred to the Planning Commission.

<br />Repprt of the Library for the month of January and Police Matron for months
<br />22 of December, 1936 and January, 1937 were presented and ordered filed.

<br />The Recorder reported that DeWitt W. Dormer had withdrawn his offer of
<br />,23 $500.00 for lots 26 and 27, Block 27, Fairmount Heights Addition.

<br />Petition requesting one-hour parking limit for vehicles on Eighth Avenue
<br />West between Olive and Charnelton ~treets was,presented and Chief of Police Bergman
<br />stated that the signs originally there had been destroyed and would be replaced as

<br />An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 8439 of the city of Eugene entitled "An
<br />ordinance regulating the use of power speakers, calliopes, and other noise-making,
<br />music-making or speech-making devices upon the streets of the city of Eugene, and
<br />requiring a license therefor.", passed by the Common Council August 29, 1935, and
<br />approved by the Mayor September 3, 1935 by adding a new section thereto, being
<br />Section No.5-A, was read the first time and passed to its second and third reading
<br />by title under suspension of the rule by unanimous consent of the council and was
<br />placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye,
<br />Lamb, Hendershott, Reid, Bond, Carlson, Hanns, Page and Farrington; nay, none; ab-
<br />25 sent, none. The ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8502.

<br />Ah ordinance fixing regulations upon the ownership and use of bicycles in
<br />the city of Eugene, providing a penalty and declaring an emergency, and repealing
<br />all ordinances in conflict herewith had its third reading. At this time the City
<br />Recorder, at the request of Mr. Barette, local citizen, presented the bicycle
<br />ordinances ?ecured from the cities of Albany, Corvallis and oalem; Discussion
<br />followed. !he ordinance as read was placed upon its'final passage. The ayes and
<br />nays were called, councilmen voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, Reid, Bond, Carlson,
<br />Hanns, Page and Farrington; nay, none; absent, none. The ordinance was declared
<br />passed and numbered 8503.

<br />and interest, due the bouthern'Pacific as a result of overpayment out of any
<br />District Improvement Funds on hand and to make any necessary transfers of District
<br />Improvement Funds either interest or principal in order to furnish this money was
<br />presented and duly adopted. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye,
