<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the common council held at the hour :~:,' 15'<J
<br />of 7~30 o'clock P. M., March 8,1937, City Hall, Eugene, Oregon. Mayor Large -I
<br />called the meeting to order. All councilmen were present except Messrs. Hendersho~
<br />and Reid.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the meeting held February 23 were presented and as there were
<br />2 no corrections appearing they were ordered filed.
<br />
<br />Councilman Lamb, chairman of the JUdiciary Committee, reported that as a
<br />result of a conference with the Park Board and City Attorney Calkins, it was de-
<br />termined that the Park Board proceed with the provisions contained in the ordinance
<br />/3 regulating planting of' trees and shrubs in parkways in the city of Eugene.
<br />
<br />Due to the fact that R. S. ~helley has not shown the city that he is the
<br />legal owner of Lot 4, Block 3, walnut Park Addition, no steps could be taken by the
<br />Judiciary Committee to consider his request for cancellation of liens.

<br />The council refused to grant the $42.00 claim of Conie Jorgensen, which
<br />,amount is claimed by the claimants attorney, Harlow L. Weinrick, as an error in
<br />I 5 assessment. This action was unanimously approved.
<br />
<br />The council likewise refused to grant the $76.68 claim of P. W. Davis, whic
<br />amount is claimed by the claimant's attorney, Harlow L. Weinrick, as an error in
<br />I 6 bookkeeping. Action was unanimously approved.
<br />
<br />Claimants Hobert vv.' Earl and J. R. Jennings, represented in writing by at-
<br />torney Harlow L. Weinrick, were granted a refund of $29.85 and $20.69 respectively,
<br />which amounts represent errors in assessment segregation. Upon motion made ,and
<br />I 7 seconded this action was approved.
<br />
<br />The Judiciary Committee was granted an additional two weeks to consider'
<br />1 iabi 1 i ty insurance ,on sidewalks.

<br />At this time Councilman Hendershott arrived.
<br />
<br />Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee, reported the
<br />following bills to the council with the recommendation that they be allowed and
<br />motion was made and seconded that warrants be drawn for the same. The ayes and
<br />nays were called, councilmen voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, Reid, Bond, Carlson,
<br />Hanns, Page and Farrington; nay, none; absent, none.
